Our Story

Hello fellow book lovers, welcome to Book For You! We are new kids on the block and are super excited to be launching our mystery book gift boxes for tweens!

Book For You is a bespoke gifting service based in Melbourne Australia. We create gift boxes specially for tweens aged between 8 years old and 14 years old. Book For You gift boxes will always include a good book that we curate personally plus a happy gift that is bound to bring a smile to any face.

"Why tweens?" you ask?

Well, they are notoriously TOUGH to shop for. You know it, I know it. I have two of my own and boy it's tough trying to find something for them that's not just a toy (getting too cool for toys these days) or too expensive (Nintendo games and new bicycles are not wallet-friendly sadly). They have outgrown most things in the Target toy department, but are not quite ready for common gift items like jewellery, candles, and skincare products.

So, why not go for books??

I love buying books for the tweens and teenagers in my life so I know how hard it is to pick just one or two titles out of the MILLIONS that are out there.

That's where the idea for Book For You bloomed. I love books. I love reading them and deciding whether they would be good for my kids, kids of my friends, or friends of my kids.

Here at Book For You, the books we select reflect the values that I hold close to my heart. We celebrate diversity and inclusion, support #ownvoices, choose equal representation, and we do not shy away from tough topics like mental health and racism, but instead seek out age-appropriate books that touch on these important topics in thoughtful ways. 

I would love to share my favourites with you and the tweens in YOUR life!

The idea here is that you can pick the specific book, a particular genre, or let us surprise you, and we'll put together a parcel for the lucky kid who will be so super stoked to receive a gift box just for them! I promise to personally curate every book and to choose only the best ones for your gifts. You can even tell me a bit more about the person you are buying for (add this information in the comments section when you check out) so that I can personalise the selection even further.
